Our expertise has been developed from more than 30 years in taxation, auditing, accounting, corporate tax, consulting, financial advising, and investment management.
Peter has been buying shares for clients since his early days in Chartered Accounting, where his first role after University in 1982 was to prepare accounts, audit and tax returns for more than 500 self-managed superannuation funds.
Peter was responsible for managing the investments for the SMSFs and back then his ideal allocation was 50 percent into shares in Australian companies such as BHP, Western Mining, and 50 percent into Aussie Bonds, which were paying 16-18 per cent interest at that time. Peter carried this discipline into the current practice when he foundered it in 1989.
The business was originally established at Hurstville, with a city office in Australia Square established in 2003. Our offices are now located at Miranda and Bondi Junction.
With our office locations, the majority of our clients are in the Shire and Eastern Suburbs, but today with technology it is easy to access our expert advice. We also have clusters of clients on the North Shore, Northern Beaches, Padstow area, inner west, South Coast and North Coast, as well as the Gold Coast, Sunshine Coast, Melbourne, Adelaide, and Perth. Just about everywhere in Australia.
Through our long-term associations with Legacy and the Department of Veterans’ Affairs, we provide financial advice to clients who are widows from the Afghanistan conflict.
Legacy has always been close to our hearts, with Peter’s grandfather, Albert Teasel, serving in the field artillery in the major battles in France and Belgium in 1917 and 1918.
Linda’s grandfather fought in WW2, was captured by the Japanese during the fall of Singapore in 1942, was missing in action for 18 months, then was located on the Thai-Burma Death Railway as a prisoner of war.
Peter’s grandparents were both keen contributors to Legacy, as was Linda’s grandparents and parents, and naturally find Legacy to be the charity we support.
We have organised and run several charity lunches for Legacy, and Peter delights in being the MC of these important fundraisers that enable the junior Legatees to attend their annual Christmas camp at Moss Vale.
